Born to Die

Best before dates are a strange thing in the beer world. The law in the UK ensures that brewers put a date on their bottles, but for the most part it’s an entirely made up number that can be happily ignored. However, it seems that BrewDog have jumped on the fresh beer bandwagon and embraced the BBE with a new IPA: Born to Die.

    Late check in. I was unimpressed – doesn’t show its strength but not a lot going on. I blame the age and the crow letting process. Still pretty nice: generically fruity and hoppy.

    This works remarkably well and hasn’t suffered from being in the bottle for a while like some Paradoxes. Rich but not too thick, it’s got a load of chocolate and coffee, as well as a touch of berry. There’s an underlying liqueur chocolate feel that works.
