In case there’s anyone I haven’t told in person/on Facebook/by email/via carrier pigeon/etc: I’m going to the Islay Festival of Music and Malt this year. If you’re going, you should come and say hello.
I’ll be very easy to find, as on the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights – 30 May-1 June – I’ll be working behind a pop-up bar at Ramsay Hall in Port Ellen. My colleagues and I from The Whisky Exchange are shlepping a load of great whiskies up from London to pour for the three nights in the middle of the festival. There’ll also be beer, highballs and G&Ts, as well as my glorious presence.
There’s a Facebook event and you can also find details at The Whisky Exchange site, along with a load of the whiskies we’re bringing up – there’s more to come, as the boss is still checking his stash and deciding what he’s letting us have.
If you’re coming along, say hello. I’m the one with the stupid beard.
